David D'souza

David D’Souza is a journalist and public relations consultant whose 37-year experience encompasses journalism and PR consultancy in India and Middle East. His work in journalism has led him to assignments across the world and as PR consultant directed multi-cultural teams to handle a diverse client portfolio. David moved into PR consultancy following a long stint as senior journalist with the Khaleej Times in Dubai, and Free Press Journal, Mid-Day, The Indian Post and The Daily in Mumbai, India. He joined Al-Futtaim Group as Director - Public Relations heading GMASCO's PR dept as also being PR head for the Al-Futtaim Group. He came to AFG following a stint with Bates PanGulf PR as Regional Client Leader handling a 21-member team for the Doha Asian Games. He was corporate communications manager for Emaar Properties for a very short period of time and has worked with Hill & Knowlton, Burson-Marsteller Asda’a Public Relations, Fortune Promoseven-Weber Shandwick and the Dubai World Trade Centre. His portfolio of clients includes the Australian Tourist Commission, Qatar Airways, Emaar Properties, Sorouh Developers, Dubai Festival City, IKEA, Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Volvo, Fisker, Marks & Spencer, Toys R Us, Al Futtaim Technologies, Emrill, Panasonic, Sanyo, Aftron, Dubai Department of Economic Development, Doha Asian Games Organising Committee, Qatar Tourism Authority, DHL, Porsche Middle East, Zamil Group, McDonalds, among others.

David currently has his own start-up Shabdhcraft, a PR consultancy based on Pune. He is also engaged as a visiting faculty for Symbiosis School of Sports Sciences.
